Self Help for Depression:
Help Yourself Beat Your Depression!

Feel free to come to this Self Help for Depression section of the website, when you need some words of encouragement and power...

I am not a doctor or therapist but I have managed to achieve a comforting sense of inner peace by practicing spiritual teachings that have truly changed my life.

You don't have to be religious or even a believer, just try to develop some trust in principles that can really pull you out of any dark moment.

They are the best anti-depressant ever! But you do have to be willing to let go of your depression thoughts and let Trust come in ...

HAVE FAITH in yourself, because you have the power to change the thoughts that are making you suffer. They are nothing more than just thoughts.

Remember it is not the circumstances outside of you that make you suffer but the way you choose to react to them!

Self Help for Depression Tidbits...

… My name is Alice (name changed), I’m 25 yrs old and I earnestly need your help. I'm so stressed out as a result of so many things happening and I just need someone who can take me through this.. I don’t have a job and so much is out of control right now. I need a friend. Thanks…

Dear Alice,

I'm sorry you are going through such hard times. It is not easy...

When I am in such state of stress I put my spirituality in practice and it always works. You don't need to be religious, I'm not religious at all!! What I do is remembering very wise mantras that help me make it though those tough times and recover my confidence and self love.

Something that I remember often, is that I should not anticipate to events and predict catastrophic outcomes...

When we are stressed, we tend to see everything distorted and imagine always the worst, so I say to myself: those things I'm imagining are not happening right now, right now I'm safe and I really can't know for sure if they will happen or not.

TRUST in this present moment is the best answer to all my worries. Know that EVERYTHING happens in your highest good and best interest, although it doesn't seems like that at first...

Like the Dalai Lama said once, " If the problem doesn't have a solution, worrying is not going to solve it, if it has a solution, why am I worrying?”

In regards to your job, do not overstress about it. You will get a job and it will be the exact job you need to get. The Universe ALWAYS, provides. As long as you don't move the center of your life from love and kindness to yourself and others the universe will ALWAYS provide for you... I have no doubt about it! And it shouldn’t be any doubt in you.

Just TRUST that everything is going to be alright... It will be all right. That I guarantee you!!!!

It takes some time to reach this level of trust, but if you practice you will get there. Our obsessive thinking DOES NOT solve/help the situation. Remove your thinking from the equation, trust and let Life take care of you. Connect with your inner source of love and strength, because it is there!

I wish these words bring you some relief and support. You are not alone. Do not lose faith. Trust, and do not move away from love; it will nurture you, feed you, take care of you if you let it....

Love, light and blessings,

What People are Saying...

"All I can say is THANKYOU! so much for making this site! I was put on anti-depressants when I was 13 (now 20) after a childhood of severe abuse in every imaginable way. Just a few weeks ago I've come off my medications for good and am never going back. I came across this site today, it has helped so much already!
