How To Deal With Stress?

If we don’t learn how to deal with stress, it will cause serious problems in our body and our mind.

Stress causes our system to be under red alert all the time. It causes the mind to be over-active; worrying continuously.

But there are ways to relief stress and that is what this article is all about.

What are the Biggest Causes of Stress?

If our attitude towards life is embracing and positive, it will be difficult for stress to creep up on us. If, on the contrary, we generally feel fearful and pessimistic, it'll be very easy to get stressed on a regular basis.

From my point of view, the following are the biggest causes of stress:

1. Worrying:

Worrying is the most toxic habit you can ever have. Worrying is like a rocking chair: it takes a lot of energy and it doesn't take you anywhere!

We worry about almost everything:

• Not having enough time or money

• Too much work or no work at all

• Relationships and health problems in general.

Each time I start worrying, I remember three very important things:

1. If the problem has a solution, why should I worry? If it doesn’t have a solution, worrying is not going to solve it!

2. Anticipation has no place at all, confidence in this present moment will direct my way…

3. The Universe always provides, and its answer to my prayers is always the best answer (even when it doesn't look like it is!).

Each time I remember this, I feel lighter, as if a weight has been lifted.

2. Not Being in the Present Moment:

Our mind constantly takes us to live in the past or in the future. Learning how to deal with stress involves an effort to be in the present moment.

Please take a pledge to:

• Not dwell on events that happened in the past…

• Not worry about events that might happen in the future…

When we play stressful situations in our mind, either from the past or the future, we put unnecessary stress in our body. The body is incapable to tell the difference and releases the same response as if we were truly involved in a stressful situation at the moment.

The best way to learn to be in the present moment is by practicing meditation techniques.

And One Very Important Thing…

Exercise reduces stress!

To learn how to deal with stress, it is almost mandatory to incorporate some type of physical exercise. Exercise eliminates toxins in the body and reduces the building up of muscular tension.

I personally recommend yoga as the most complete practice.

But if yoga doesn’t appeal to you, there are many other options. Hiking or walking in the woods is a fantastic way of exercising and relaxing at the same time.

Eastern practices like Tai Chi and Quigong also involve physical and mental focus. They are excellent for reducing stress.

Turning exercise into a habit can be challenging at the beginning, but once you start seeing the improvement in your overall health you are going to love it!!

Stress is No Joke!

Remember, the only thing that can really stress you is your own thinking. SO, TAKE A DEEP BREATH, RELAX, BE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT, ENJOY AND DO NOT WORRY!!!

Set time apart to do WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT IN LIFE. Spend quality time with family and friends, dedicate time to yourself and do what you really love…
