Best Eckhart Tolle Quotes

This is a compilation of Eckhart Tolle Quotes that I have found particularly helpful as I study his teachings.

If I could summarize Eckhart Tolle teachings in a few words I’d say that the only important thing in life, the only thing that really matters, is this moment. Embracing this moment exactly as it is, is all you need for a profound spiritual transformation.

The problem is that we are way too used to fighting this present moment. When we make peace with the present moment, we align ourselves with Life itself.

Here they are, my favorite Eckhart Tolle quotes:

“The ultimate truth of what you are is not that you are this or that but that you ARE…”

“We can learn not to keep situations or events alive in our minds, but to return our attention continuously to the pristine, timeless present moment rather than be caught up in mental movie making.”

"Thinking is no more than a tiny aspect of the totality of consciousness, the totality of who you are."

“The moment you become aware of the ego in yourself, that emerging awareness is who you are beyond ego, the deeper “I”. The recognition of the false is already the arising of the real.”

“Unhappiness is an ego-created mental emotional disease that has reached epidemic proportions. It is the inner equivalent of the environmental pollution of our planet.”

“Everything is honored but nothing matters… Forms are born and die, yet you are aware of the eternal underneath the forms. When this is your state of being how can you not succeed, you have succeeded already.”

“Enlightenment means to relinquish your attachment to past and future and make the Now the main focus in your life.”

“God is not a personality outside of you. What God is, is inextricably part of what you are. God is the dimension of depth within you.”

“Love is a state of Being. Your love is not outside; it is deep within you. You can never lose it, and it cannot leave you.”

“Make the now the primary focus of your life and pay brief visits to the past or future when required.”

“The aspects of God are infinity and eternity. What is God? The eternal One life underneath all the forms of life. What is love? The presence of that life deep within myself and within all creatures.”

“So the single most vital step on your journey toward enlightenment is this: learn to disidentify from your mind. Every time you create a gap in the stream of mind, the light of your consciousness grows stronger. One day you may catch yourself smiling at the voice in your head, as you would smile at the antics of a child. This means that you no longer take the content of your mind all that seriously, as your sense of self does not depend on it.”

“Boredom is a sign that you are identified with mind.”

“The outer purpose of the world is to create form and experience the interaction of forms … The inner purpose is to awaken to its formless essence”

I prefer the audio books because I can listen to the recordings anywhere; while I'm driving, while I do my walking in the morning (in my Ipod), before going to sleep... It is very relaxing!

What People are Saying...

"All I can say is THANKYOU! so much for making this site! I was put on anti-depressants when I was 13 (now 20) after a childhood of severe abuse in every imaginable way. Just a few weeks ago I've come off my medications for good and am never going back. I came across this site today, it has helped so much already!
